| In 1993 the Avanti appeared on the
cover of Cars & Parts Magazine with the 1958 Edsel. They
labeled it "Studebaker's Swan Song." The cover is
memorable largely because no two cars could be more different
in concept and history than the sleek and stylish Avanti and
the ill-conceived and short-lived Edsel. The Avanti has an established
reputation for being "ahead of its time." Decades
of automotive design have not produced anything quite like it.
The Avanti again appeared on a Cars & Parts cover in January
