Avanti From Above
Avanti entering gallery Avantis have been included in an industrial design exhibit at the Louvre in Paris, in a Coca Cola show in the British Design Museum in London, in an exhibit at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan, and in a Raymond Loewy exhibit at the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C. from August to November of 1975. The photo at left shows an Avanti being delivered to the Smithsonian Institute's Renwick Gallery through the main front entrance. It had to be turned on its side to pass through the narrow opening as the pre-20th century building provided no other access. The ornate 19th century building is located on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 17th Street, only a short distance from the White House.
