Nelson on Life in 1958. |
Ricky
Nelson was the son of 1950s television stars, Ozzie and Harriet
Nelson. Ricky appeared on the "Ozzie and Harriet"
television sitcom through the latter half of that decade and
began performing "Rock'n Roll" songs at the end of
each episode. Life Magazine ran a cover story on Ricky that
coined a new phrase to describe him, "Teenage Idol."
Ricky's red 1963 Studebaker Avanti, serial number R1607, is
still around. It is an R2 with a supercharger, 4-speed, power
steering, power brakes, electric windows, twin traction, and
tinted glass. |

Angie Dickinson in "Rio Bravo" directed by Howard
Hawks. Then in 1960 he co-starred with Jack Lemmon in "The
Wackiest Ship in the Army."
