| The Avanti merits recognition as
a pop culture icon of the Kennedy/Beatles
era of the mid 1960's. In that context, it appears in a classic
Archie comic book and in Studebaker's
period advertising. It was also widely tested and reported
in the automotive press of that time. Yet, because the Avanti
legacy spans four decades, it also appears in 70's, 80's, and
90's popular films as a contemporary design. It even appears
in 1997's Gattaca as a car of the
future! Avantis attract considerable attention on the road and
they have made recent media appearances that include a Motor
Trend Magazine "Retrospective" and the films,
"Past Tense" and "Pretty Woman." |
