Gattaca, the 1998 science fiction film about genetically engineered humans living in a world of 'valid' and 'invalid' specimens, was written and directed by Andrew Niccol. It stars Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, Alan Arkin, and Jude Law. Hawke plays Vincent, a man who dares to defy a system obsessed with genetic perfection. Vincent drives a 1963 Studebaker Avanti portrayed as a car of the future. Gattaca cars Vincent assumes the identity of a member of the genetic elite to pursue his ambition of traveling in space. A week before his first mission a murder marks Vincent as a suspect and his dreams begin to unravel. Director, Niccol, and production designer, Jan Roelfs, chose a 'classic' motif of timeless design to portray the future. The Gattaca Avanti movie on YouTube
