The model to be designed was the 2010 Avanti NXT, the "next generation" of the classic make. Judges were looking for original, functional, and crisply rendered designs seating 4-5 in a two-door coupe. Any art medium could be used:  charcoals, pastels, oils, watercolors, pencils, inks, airbrush or mixed media. Computer-enhanced entries with color and halftones were acceptable as long as they contained no photo elements of real cars.
